Storage environment

Our storage vault is built to comply with the temperature and humidity levels set out in BS4783-8 of the National Archives Care, Handling and Storage of Removable media guide. This means that your backup tapes are safely stored in a temperature controlled environment, away from dust-producing peripherals and without any exposure to direct sunlight or intense magnetic fields from other electrical devices.

Fire protection

You’ll sleep easy knowing that your data backups are stored in secure containers within lockable, fire-resistant cabinets. These cabinets are held in our fire-proof vault which is monitored by CCTV and has controlled access. Any movements of your data are logged and tracked, meaning you’ll always be in control of its location.

Easy access

We know there are times when you need to access your backup data at short notice. That’s why we guarantee delivery within 30-60 minutes of your request*. Our team of drivers are CRB checked and have personal involvement with each and every Datastor account, meaning you’ll get to know Gary, Crhis and Shaun who will handle your data as if it’s their own, and won’t let it out of their sight until it’s safely stored with us.

Transport & storage handling

At Datastor, all of our drivers are adequately trained to understand the complexities of handling and transporting magnetic media. We ensure all backups are sealed in the appropriate container to prevent excessive movement during transportation as well as to avoid extreme changes in temperature or humidity and exposure to other magnetic fields.
